Puri has a very huge collection of handicrafts products. Specially it is known for it's gorgeous applique work of Pipili. Pipili is on the way from puri to Bhubaneswar. It is nearest 40 kilometers from puri, it is a very small village. On the main road at pipili village every shops selling Applique and handicrafts products, tourist come to visit this place and buy their products from pipili.

It is famous all over world for it's work. Every day each family of the village engaged in this applique work, most of the people depend on this applique work for their day to day life. In this various types of cutting pieces, colorful fabrics are applied on another foundation fabric. Applique works of pipili is called as patching cloth design, but in local language this type of handicraft called "Chandua".
